Bernie P. Keating
After 22 years in Southern Ontario, Bernie returned to his Northern Ontario roots to practice law in Bracebridge, Huntsville and Gravenhurst. Bernie values community, friendship, and the natural beauty of Muskoka.
Bernie’s practice in Bracebridge concentrates on residential real estate transactions, (including mortgages and land development), wills, powers of attorney and estate administration. He has developed an expertise in the formation and management of professional corporations for physicians, lawyers and accountants.
Throughout his practice, Bernie’s has provided high-quality legal representation in real estate, wills and civil litigation. He has appeared before the Ontario Municipal Board, the Ontario Parole Board, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Bernie received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Francis Xavier University, where he majored in Theology and Economics. Following graduation in 1983, Bernie spent 6 years pursuing a vocation as a priest with the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). During that time, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago and a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana.
Bernie received his LL.B. degree from Queens University in 1993 and has practised law continuously since his Call to the Bar in 1995. Bernie has been active in his community including volunteering for Out of the Cold, coaching basketball, political organisation, and Rotary. Bernie is an avid sports fan, fisher, outdoorsman, canoeist and cook.
